Pain In Left Wrist Is This Heart Attack Symptom?
Saturday
Aug 22, 2009
for last 10 days i am having pain in my ‘left wrist’. first i thought it might be a sprain, but usually it would go away in 3-4 days, but this one hasn’t gone in 10 days. i am not able to pinpoint where exactly the pain is, but it does pain when my wrist is in normal resting position. It pains if i try to twist it in different directions and angles. just wanted to know is this a possible heart attack symptom? my age is 32. if yes how do i confirm or reject this possibility

It’s not a heart attack. Probably carpel tunnel syndrome. The tendon in your wrist is inflamed and it’s being pinched in the “tunnel” in your wrist joint. It’s a very common condition.

There should be a detail history of your symptoms e.g. your profession, H/O recent trauma etc.
However you might be suffering from Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist. As a result, the hand and wrist may experience:
* pain
* weakness
* numbness (may radiate up the arm)
The carpal tunnel receives its name from the 8 “carpal” bones in the wrist. The carpal “tunnel” is a narrow, rigid passageway of ligament and bones at the base of the hand that houses the median nerve and tendons. The median nerve runs down the forearm into the hand controlling sensations to the:
* thumb (palm side)
* fingers (not the little finger)
* hand muscles (impulses controlling finger/thumb movement).
BUT IF IN DOUBT GET YOURSELF RULED OUT FROM ANY CARDIAC PROBLEM.

My friend if you think you are having a heart attack don’t sit there and think about it call your damn doctor or go to ER. Even if it turns out you were just over reacting you might get some advice on how to stop the symptoms if god forbid you ever did have a heart attack

I think the pain in your wrist is something else. I am just wondering if you use the computer or type all the time. I am jsut wondering if you have carpal tunnel syndrome. Go to your GP and have it check. The GP will do a test for that.

If you have reason to thin you’re at risk of a heart attack you should be going to see your doctor. Lots of people have come to an early death by asking unqualified people for medical advice in serious situations.

Heart attacks sometimes pain the arm, but never the wrist. More heart attack symptoms are at http://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/under… Do you possibly have carpal tunnel? Go see a chiropractor and see what they think.

Just from your opening sentence. NO. If you have had pain for 10 days it would mean a 10 day long heart attack. I really think that you would have died by the end of day 1…

Wrist pain is wrist pain, not a heart attack.

I doubt you are having a heart attack. You maybe just injured your wrist in your sleep or you may have circulation problems, but heart attack pain will be in your chest and will radiate to your left arm. You are fairly young to have a heart attack. Try some pain killers with anti inflammatory agents, like Ibuprofen or Aspirin. If your pain is still present in a week, I would suggest a visit to the doctor.

Chances are slim for a heart attack but you may be getting some blood circulation problems.
If youre overweight then maybe plus family signs etc.
Had similar thing happen to me. Best advide I can give you, go get an EKG and stress test.
They’ll scan your heart and let you know for sure. Also eat 1 aspirin a day (to ease the blood flow)

If you know you hurt it on something a sprain can last for months I sprained my finger and the Doctor told me it could take months for the pain to go away.It doesn’t sound like a heart attack but if you are concerned about that then you should see a doctor.
