For the last couple of weeks the achs and pains I’m getting in my chest, arms, and neck is becoming more regular. I do have acid reflux and I am not sure if its gas or symtoms of a heart attack. Now its starting to keep me awake at night. I have been to the doctor before and they found nothing. Its very confusing wondering whether its gas or not!!!!!!

go back to the doctor soon. tell him the symptoms are increasing in severity and you need further tests. gas, as you put it, can cause shoulder blade and neck pain. there are many possible causes for these aches and pains, and your doctor should refer you on for further investigations. good luck and good health to you.

If you’re worried ask for a second opinion.

Go to a doctor now! He will be able to reassure you or refer you for a second opinion ,if you are not happy. When they tell you all is well you will feel so much better and put these symptoms into their true perspective

If you have acid reflux, that is the likely cause of your symptoms. Heart failure is usually characterized by chest pain and shooting pain down the right arm, specifically. Find out more about ways to treat acid reflux.

Where does the pain start? And from that location does it radiate to your arms/chest/neck. Do you have any medical history about cardiac problems/?!

Oh my GOD ! i think it is better that you go back to your doctor for a follow up , so that further lab test/ procedures will be done inorder to diagnose you properly & proper management will be given.

Go back to your doctor. My husband went to doctor with similar complaint 10 weeks ago & was told he had angina .Went to hospital 4 weeks ago for treadmill test but was having what hospital called a silent heart attack. He was put in coronary care right away. Test showed he had had these attacks before but didnt know. He is now recovering after having quadruple bypass plus one other artery graft & will be home soon. This may not be what is wrong with you but better safe than sorry get it checked out now and good luck.

It all depends on The type of pain you are getting. If the chest pain is a feeling of crushing pressure with pain going down your left arm then this is a very good sign of a coronary problem. However reflux can also cause severe chest pain. The best thing to do is go to A&E, ER or whatever and get yourself seen as an emergency. They will run a series of tests that will confirm your diagnosis. As to your doctor not doing anything GET ANOTHER ONE PDQ.

You really should have a thorough check up, both by a cardiologist and by a gastroenterologist. It could be GERD, ulcers, or a heart problem. Chest pain is nothing to play around with. If your doctor didn’t find answers, I’d suggest a second opinion.
A gastroenterologist can put a small, flexible scope into your mouth (while you’re asleep) and check your esophagus, stomach, and the first portion of your small intestine. It’s a quick procedure, usually 5-10 minutes. Your doctor will be able to tell you what he found after you wake up, and he’ll send biopsies to the lab to confirm his findings.
A cardiac work up would include at least an EKG and some bloodwork; if that shows anything abnormal, they might follow it up with a cardiac stress test or an echocardiogram.
You really should check it out until you get answers, though. Heart patients classically feel like they’re having heartburn. Both diseases have similar symptoms, and until you have it thoroughly checked out, you won’t have any way to know for sure.

I would try going to the doctor again – perhaps you can get an appointment with a different doctor in your surgery.

Chest pain doesn’t always mean heart trouble. Like headaches, there are a large number of possible causes. If you were having a heart attack, you’d know about it.
You did the right thing by seeing a doctor, and if (s)he says they can’t find a problem I’d take comfort from that. If you’re adamant that there’s a problem despite this then seek a second opinion.

I have both Angina and acid reflux. If you have acid reflux then you may be taking Omeprazole or similar which stop excess stomouch acid production. I wasn’t taking mine when I had a heart attack on 1st June this year. It showed as a chest pain. Actually my acid reflux pain was much worse than the heart attack pain. If I were you I would either go to Accident and Emergency at the hospital and tell them you are having chest pains. Or call an ambulance. You can’t mess about as it is life and death. Pack a small bag with toilet kit and pyjamas etc and admit yourself. They will give you an ECG and give a blood test. If you have had a heart attack a certain enzyme shows up in the blood after 12 hours from when the pain started.Nothing showed on my ECG to start with. Later on after a week or so they may give you an angiogram which you need. An angiogram shows the heart consultant which of your coronary arteries are narrowed or blocked. They may then give you Angioplasty/and stents. Don’t worry, none of these procedures hurt. They are just uncomfortable for relatively brief moments. I think the worst part for me was when the nurse would come round to give me a blood test. But don’t delay admit yourself today-the hospital meals are ok especially at Christmas!! Good luck and God bless you. You will be ok. But say some prayers and one for me too please.

My dad was suffering with the same and he kept going to the doctors only for them to tell him there was nothing wrong. Again and again he went and got the same answer.
He has just recently had a massive heart attack. We nearly lost him. I am not trying to scare u i am just saying this is not something to be taken lightly. Pleases go back to the doctors and demand they take a proper look at you.
You may well be fine but its better to be on the safe side. Good luck and i hope you feel better soon.

i would go to a&e. if your doctor says nothing is wrong but you are still having pain then your doctor is wrong! at least in a hospital the equipment is there to give you a thourough examination..dont gamble on your health, better safe than sorry. also did you know that a heart attack can mimic indigestion, the symptoms are similar

I had experienced that too, I think it is because I am stressful with my life, we need to see a doctor it might lead to heat problem later.
