for some its very quick and for others its slow. my mom was having a heart attack for two days before she went to the hospital and had to have two stents place. it just depends on how much blood flow is getting to the heart. now if its defribillation (where the heart loses rythem) its a matter of minutes

The signs and symptoms of every heart attack (known as a Myocardial Infarction) is different. A heart attack is caused when an artery in the heart becomes blocked. Depending on where this happens depends on what happens to the person. Sometimes nothing is need to be done, where other times it can be very severe.
Short answer: It is best to treat the symptoms of a heart attack within 20 minutes of the onset of pain
