Hi jerrygui,
What you are getting is called epigastric pain and although it feels it is in the chest it is actually nothing to do with the heart.
if you were having a heart attack you would have severe retrosternal (behind the breast bone) pain, feel sick and dizzy, sweating, fighting for breath, cyanosis of extremities (fingers, toes ear lobes turning blue, also around the lips, pain could radiate down left arm,or up to the jaw. In other words you will feel extremely ill!!!
Hope this puts your mind at rest.

first off are you a male or female? cause depending on your sex you may experiance different symptoms, secondly how old are you, age can also be a factor… do you smoke or drink…. I am asking this because all of theese things may put you at risk…
the general symptoms of a myocardial infarction ( also known as a heart attack) include
shortness of breath
pale diapheretic ( sweating perfusouly) skin
crushing chest pain that may radiate to your left arm, or your jaw shoulder or even back
the pain may or may not be exruciating depending on the severity of the blockage
the above symptoms are usually found in male patients the biggest sign to worry about is the chest pain it self if it is a radiating pain that does not go away you need to take 2 baby asprin and call 911 better safe than sorry
Female heart attack patient often experiance flu like symptoms which is why females are at a higher risk of dying from a heart attack.
you may be just experiancing angina (look it up on webmd) or anxiety.

i get wicked bad chest pains too, so i know how you feel. but i’ve been to the emergency room & my doctors office twice and they did all kinds of tests & said i’m fine.
& to help ease your mind a little my doctor said that i might suffer from the same thing you have and that gastritis/gerd/etc. can mimic a heart attack. of course, if you’re really worried about it talk to your doctor and explain your concerns. it’s better safe than sorry.
good luck.!
