No, it’s not a heart attack. I can’t think of the name of it (sorry I can’t be of more help) but it’s basically gas building up in your esophagus and pressing on your chest. The same thing happens to me. Try drinking something carbonated and lay flat on your back.

Why couldnt it be a heart attack? there are minor an major heart attacks this could be a minor one. Also the age doesnt mean a lot anymore i know a handful of people under the age of 21 who have heart attacks one as young as 6. I would go get yourself checked out.

Ok.My husband is 55 but two days ago he thought he had bad heartburn and kept hitting his chest with his fist to make himself burp. Did this all morning , antacids didn’t work , saw a doctor friend who adivsed him to go to emergency. He had a heart attack there in emergency. Thank goodness they had just done an ekg and took blood. They gave him nitroglycerin tablets. Pain subsided, this morning they put one stent in.Just goes to show you, a heart attack can feel like bad heartburn. You may just have anxiety. Take a deep breath and focus on your breathing. .My son gets stabbing pains in chest from anxiety.he lays down and concentrates on his breathing till he calms himself. Young people don’t usually have heart attacks.

My best guess would be an aniexty attack based upon maybe your family history or your body’s response to one of the possibilities mentioned by Alex above.
However, it is just a GUESS and no right minded medical professional or otherwise would not encourage you to go and get it checked!
It could many things BUT at least the doctor can hopefully put your mind at rest with two simple painless tests.
So pick up the phone and call the doctor. Easy.

Might be GERD, muscular pain, anxiety or lungs disease too, besides heart.
Consult your doctor.

Ya, I would get to a cardiologist asap. Let him, not the YA community, diagnose you.
A cold one.

The odds are you are not having a heart attack.
Chest pain is one of the most common complaints people have going to the emergency room or ambulance.
Other causes could include:
1. pneumonia
2. pleurisy (chest wall infection)
3. gas
4. a Premature Ventricular contraction, an electrical blip common in your age group.
5. prolapsed mitral valve.
feel free to be seen.

You should call 911 or go to the E.R.

It’s possible, but highly doubtful.
I have had symptoms similar to that before and sometimes you can just get so freaked out about it that you’ll end up making yourself feel worse.
just lay down and relax for a little while. if you still feel like something is wrong, go to the er or even one of those 24 hour clinics.
btw, i went to the er when i felt like that they have like a speedy section for less serious patients. and i was diagnosed with chostocondritis.

You aren’t having a heart attack. It’s not very likely a 16 year old will get one and more than once in a row. But see the doctor about the pain, they can help.

What you are describing sounds a lot like an anxiety attack. Go to a Doctor to rule out heart issues though especially since you have a family history of heart problems.

It’s hard to know over the internet. But you should go and get this checked out. Even though you are young you ‘may’ have some kind of problem with the heart. Here’s more info:

It could be heart burn, but I doubt it is a heart attack, especially if your only 16. Eat more nutriousously, avoid junk and fast food.
I would consult a doctor. But I can assure you it is not a heat attack.

Get to a doctor immediately. I’m not sure what these are symptoms of but you should seek professional care if you have any doubts.

i doubt it but you could have it checked there are so many things that you can have. sometimes gas will do it and of coarse with family having it in your family but i assume its older people? maybe 50 or so? but its never too good to not have it checked and find out what is wrong. take care.
